BloodRayne comic series Kickstarter launches in 2027
A new BloodRayne comic series is planned for an early 2027 Kickstarter, with physical editions of the Definitive Collection also on the way.
A new BloodRayne comic series is heading to Kickstarter in early 2027, expanding Ziggurat Interactive’s vampire-action franchise beyond games. Roditeli Productions will produce the series, with Kevin Roditeli writing and BRÄO on art. The announcement also names Felipe Cagno, Andy Lanning, Ant Williams, Serge LaPointe and Chris Stevens among the wider creative team. 1
The campaign is being framed as a 25th-anniversary rebirth for the series. The planned comics will explore Rayne’s world through new stories, with the wider material eventually building towards what the announcement describes as a larger worldwide threat in the BloodRayne universe. The Kickstarter has been announced, but its full launch details and reward tiers have not yet been published. 1
More BloodRayne is on the way
Alongside the comic announcement, new merchandise is available through Night Channels. The current range includes an embroidered BloodRayne logo hat, a limited jumbo print T-shirt, shirts featuring the title in multiple scripts, a Title/Load Art shirt and hoodie, and Brimstone Society sweatshirts.
The franchise is also returning to physical retail. Physical editions of BloodRayne: Definitive Collection are planned for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch through Strictly Limited Games, with the release date still to be confirmed. Digital versions are also in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
The collection brings together the original BloodRayne, BloodRayne 2 and BloodRayne: Betrayal – Fresh Bites. It follows Rayne, a dhampir agent of the Brimstone Society, through supernatural conflicts, occult forces and violent encounters with enemies tied to her vampiric heritage. 1
What the Kickstarter needs to clarify
The announcement establishes the creative team and a broad 2027 window, but it does not yet provide a live campaign page with a funding target, exact launch date, pledge tiers or shipping information. Those details will be important for readers deciding whether to support the project once the Kickstarter goes live.
For now, the strongest confirmed news is that the comic exists, Roditeli Productions is leading it, and the team intends to use the anniversary as a springboard for new BloodRayne stories. The campaign artwork also confirms the project’s focus: Rayne remains the visual centre, while the comic is being presented as a continuation of the property rather than a detached spin-off.
Our opinion
A comic is a sensible direction for BloodRayne. The games have always had a strong visual identity and a protagonist built for stylised panels, but a Kickstarter also keeps expectations honest: the project still needs to turn a familiar licence into a book readers will actively fund.
The early announcement has the right ingredients, particularly the mix of established comics talent and people connected to the franchise’s wider lore. The missing pieces are practical rather than cosmetic. A clear campaign schedule, preview pages, reward plans and a realistic production timetable will decide whether this feels like a meaningful 25th-anniversary revival or simply another piece of merchandise around an old name. Until those details arrive, the sensible position is interest rather than blind commitment.
