Bills Must Be Paid brings its piggy-bank chaos to mobile
Bills Must Be Paid brings its complete piggy-bank-smashing debt spiral to iOS and Android for US$5.99 on November 1.
Bills Must Be Paid is bringing its piggy-bank-smashing debt spiral to phones on November 1, 2026. Rike Games says the complete game will launch on iOS and Android for US$5.99 as a one-time purchase, with pre-orders open on the App Store and pre-registration available through Google Play. 1
The mobile release follows a strong run on Steam. The studio says the game has sold more than 600,000 copies since launching on July 29, including 100,000 sales in its first 72 hours. It has also passed 13,000 user reviews with Steam’s Overwhelmingly Positive rating. 12
A premium game about paying the bills
The joke is simple enough: the player is broke, the bills keep arriving and the answer is to smash piggy banks until there is enough cash to stay solvent. Each run is limited by stamina, so the aim is not just to hit things as quickly as possible. Players need to decide how to spend their energy, collect money and pay bills before bankruptcy ends the run.
The game’s progression system adds more structure to the deliberately silly premise. Different piggy types have different behaviours, random loot keeps each run unpredictable and a branching skill tree lets players improve strength, luck and special abilities. Rike Games also includes multiple hammers with different combinations of speed, damage, critical chance and striking radius. 1
Paying bills unlocks perks and legacy points. Those points can be spent on rings and bracelets that improve the player’s hand even after a bankruptcy reset. Rare coins provide another reason to keep exploring each run rather than treating the game as a single straight upgrade path.
The mobile edition is intended to be the complete game rather than a free-to-play spin-off. Rike Games lists iPhone and iPad devices running iOS 15 or later, alongside Android phones and tablets. The App Store and Google Play listings are the official mobile versions identified by the studio. 134
From Steam success to a first official phone release
Rike Games says Bills Must Be Paid is its first premium Steam game after seven years of making mobile and web games. The small studio describes the project as an unlikely success story: a game about smashing piggy banks to escape bankruptcy helped fund the team’s ability to keep making games. 1
There was an earlier, unofficial appearance on phones. According to the Games Press release, a stolen build of the free demo was recompiled and published as an ad-supported mini-game on Douyin before being removed after a copyright complaint. The November 1 launch is the first official mobile release from Rike Games, with the App Store and Google Play listings serving as the authorised versions. 1
That makes the store pages worth checking carefully. The game is a premium purchase, not a free download with optional upgrades, and the studio has warned players away from unauthorised copies. The official trailer also points to the same November 1 date and shows the game’s cartoon pig, coins and hammer in the foreground. 5
What players can expect
The core loop is intentionally compact. A run begins with smashing piggy banks to collect cash, but every hit consumes stamina. Bills appear as an ongoing pressure, and paying them unlocks improvements that make later runs more capable. Bankruptcy resets part of the progress while leaving behind legacy upgrades, giving repeated attempts a clear purpose.
The game’s humour comes from turning ordinary financial anxiety into an exaggerated physical challenge. Piggies can run away, refuse to move or carry different kinds of loot, while the upgrade tree lets players build towards faster attacks, stronger hits or unusual abilities. That should make the mobile version a natural fit for short sessions, although its stamina system still asks players to manage each run instead of mindlessly tapping until the screen stops moving.
On Steam, the combination of a clear premise and a large upgrade loop has already found an audience. The mobile launch now gives that audience a portable version without splitting the experience into a separate free-to-play economy. The US$5.99 price also makes the release easy to understand: buy the game once, then access the complete package. 1
Our opinion
A mobile game about smashing piggy banks to pay bills sounds like a one-joke pitch, but Bills Must Be Paid has built enough systems around that joke to make the launch interesting. Stamina, bankruptcy resets, legacy upgrades and different hammer builds give the central gag somewhere to go after the first few minutes.
The most important detail is that this is the full premium game rather than a monetised imitation of its Steam counterpart. If the controls survive the move to touchscreens, the November 1 release could be a neat portable version of one of 2026’s more cheerfully ridiculous indie success stories.
