MARY - Rescue Princess Mary has added smartphone support to its free browser version, alongside a new hidden ending and 103 additional branches. Developer YORUROJI announced the update after the game passed 10,000 Steam wishlists on October 26.1

The free version is available through unityroom. The update brings its total to six endings: four standard endings and two hidden endings. With 103 new branches added, the game now contains 544 possible branches in total, according to the developer’s announcement reproduced by Famitsu.1

The adventure’s central idea is simple but unusually flexible: players can add one letter to the buttons that determine the protagonist’s actions. That small change can alter the meaning of a choice and send the story in a completely different direction. The smartphone version adds an on-screen keyboard so players can make those changes without a PC.1

The free edition has passed 680,000 page views, while the definitive Steam version remains planned for 2027 on Windows and Mac. The Steam listing describes the full release as an expanded version of the original game, with more story branches, meta elements and games within the game.2

The free browser version can be played at unityroom, while the Steam version is listed as MARY - Rescue Princess Mary. The game is currently Japanese-only, according to its Steam listing.2

Our opinion

A smartphone port would be useful on its own, but it makes particular sense for MARY. Its one-letter-at-a-time gimmick is built around quick experiments, and removing the PC requirement gives more players a chance to try those experiments. The 103 new branches are the stronger reason to return: this update is not merely a new control scheme, but a meaningful expansion of the game’s central idea.
