Appulse demo launches ahead of November 26 release

The pinball roguelite shooter’s Steam demo is live before its 26 November launch.

Appulse combines pinball tables with top-down shooting in an official Steam screenshot

Appulse is now available as a Steam demo ahead of its 26 November release, giving players an early look at the unusual mix of pinball movement, top-down shooting and roguelite upgrades. The developer’s Steam listing confirms the game is coming to Windows PC on 26 November and includes a playable demo.1 TheSixthAxis also reports that the demo has been freshly updated.2

How the pinball shooting works

Rather than sending a normal ball around a table, Appulse puts a controllable craft between the flippers. Players use the flippers to launch and reload, then fire weapons to influence the craft’s movement through the table. Recoil is part of the movement system: each shot can push the craft in the opposite direction, turning aiming and positioning into one combined skill test.1

The table is also filled with enemies, score targets and bosses. Steam describes a mission to protect a mothership from invading robots, while the store page’s screenshots show the craft battling across a neon-lit board. TheSixthAxis’ preview adds that enemies can be damaged by gunfire or by ramming them with the ball-like craft, with larger encounters building towards bosses.12

A demo before launch

The demo gives the game a chance to explain its hybrid design before the full release. Its progression is built around run-based perks, allowing players to alter recoil, magazine size and other tools between attempts. That means Appulse is not simply digital pinball with weapons layered on top: its central challenge is learning how shooting, flippers, momentum and upgrades interact during a run.12

The Steam page lists Appulse for release on 26 November 2026. The demo is available now through the same store listing, while the full game is still marked as coming soon.1

Our opinion

The official listing gives Appulse a clear hook, and the demo’s timing makes the upcoming release easier to judge than a trailer alone. The concept will live or die on whether its recoil and flipper controls feel precise rather than chaotic, but the combination is distinctive enough to merit a look from players who enjoy experimental roguelites and arcade-inspired action.
