AfterZero: The Last Drive is coming in 2027
3DClouds’ frozen survival adventure sends players across an icy wasteland in an upgradeable vehicle when it launches on Xbox, PS5 and PC in 2027.
AfterZero: The Last Drive is a new survival adventure from 3DClouds, set in a frozen wasteland where an upgradeable vehicle is the difference between reaching shelter and running out of options. It is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC in 2027. 1
A road through the Frostfall
The game begins after an event called the Frostfall has left humanity scattered beneath ice and snow. Players drive Old Grizzly through abandoned cities, frozen lakes and mountain forests while searching for supplies and a route to Sunnyland, a refuge said to be less severe than the surrounding wasteland. 2
The vehicle is more than transport. Players can improve Old Grizzly with equipment such as grappling hooks, ice tyres and nitrogen guns, then use the upgraded vehicle to push further into dangerous areas. The journey is shaped by nightfall, storms, limited supplies and the constant decision over when to turn back. 1
A small drone called T3DDY accompanies the player, while the radio carries the voices of fellow survivors. Back at the Firewall shelter, the group needs food, medicine and heat, and an old train must be repaired before it can carry everyone towards safety. That gives expeditions a clear purpose beyond simply collecting resources: each trip has to help keep the camp alive. 2
There is a stranger problem beneath the survival setup. An old AI still controls machines scattered through the frozen world. Players will be able to hack, disable and exploit those machines, with the system’s purpose forming part of the game’s wider mystery. 1

Our opinion
The promising part of AfterZero is the way its systems point in the same direction. Driving, scavenging, vehicle upgrades and base management all reinforce the idea that every journey is a calculated gamble. The 2027 window means the details still need time to settle, but a survival game that makes the vehicle feel like a companion rather than a fast-travel menu has a strong hook.
