Geppy-X download editions are 30% off until 4 November

Our opinion

The 70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X (70年代風ロボットアニメ ゲッP-X) download editions on Steam, PlayStation 5, Switch and PlayStation 4 are 30% off until 4 November. The promotion is the game's first sale for its current download releases, according to the original report.¹ The Steam listing gives the English title as 70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X and shows a 30% reduction from €38.99 to €27.29 in the European store at the time of checking.² The discount is tied to Steam's regional pricing, so the exact amount may vary by country. The sale covers the Steam, PS5, Switch and PS4 download versions. The PS5 and Switch physical editions, Xbox Series X|S version and Microsoft Store PC version are excluded from this particular promotion.¹ Originally released for PlayStation in 1999, Geppy-X is a side-scrolling shooter built around the presentation of a 1970s robot anime. The current release restores roughly 8,000 hand-drawn frames from the original Betacam masters and brings back the show's episodic presentation, while adding modern conveniences such as rewind, save states and achievements.² The game launched on current platforms on 16 July 2026. That makes this a discount on an existing release rather than a new launch: readers interested in the restored presentation have until 4 November to check their regional storefront.¹² A 30% first-sale discount is a useful hook for a niche revival, but the important detail is the platform split. Anyone shopping on Xbox or looking for a physical PS5 or Switch copy will not get the advertised saving, while the Steam price confirms that the promotion is live in at least one European storefront. This is best treated as a short buying window for fans of restored retro animation, not a universal discount across every version of the game.
