World of Warcraft 12.1.5 sends players into the Labyrinth

Midnight's mid-season refresh adds a nine-chamber Delve-like gauntlet, a single-boss raid and the next chapter of the Quel'Thalas story on 13 October.

Blizzard has dated World of Warcraft: Midnight's 12.1.5 content update for 13 October, arriving with weekly maintenance. The patch leans on new challenges rather than a fresh zone: a single-boss raid, a nine-chamber gauntlet and the continuation of the expansion's Quel'Thalas story.

The Unbinding of Kith'ix

The raid is a single-encounter fight against Kith'ix, with flexible Mythic difficulty. Blizzard's own summary promises the update will test players' mettle with new trials, more power and greater rewards.

Labyrinth of Kindo'jan

The headline addition is the Labyrinth of Kindo'jan, a Delve-like gauntlet built around nine chambers. It includes a Tier 11 solo challenge, and rewards cover Mythic gear, cosmetics and titles.

Season 2 mid-season refresh

Season 2 gets its mid-season refresh alongside a new Keystone Mythic tier. Players can get a head start from the week of 6 October, when Orin Straylight in Silvermoon City begins offering one additional Nebulous Voidcore a week to bonus roll for extra loot.

That offer is gated behind two quests. Blizzard says players should take In the Catalyst's Shadow from Decimus in Voidstorm, then pick up Prismatic Potential from Orin Straylight before weekly maintenance in the week of 6 October, so Orin's research timer can start before 12.1.5 goes live.

The Promise of Tomorrow

A new story campaign, The Promise of Tomorrow, returns players to the heart of Quel'Thalas and Zul'Aman for the next chapter of the Midnight saga. An outdoor event, Aqir Invasion, runs alongside the update.

Our opinion

A nine-chamber Delve and a one-boss raid is a deliberately lean patch for a game midway through an expansion cycle. Blizzard is spending its mid-season slot on repeatable challenge and a single spectacle fight rather than another zone, which suits players who log in weekly for Keystone and Delve runs but leaves anyone hoping for new ground to explore waiting for the next major update.
