WARDOGS Season 2 adds weapons, vehicles and a wipe
WARDOGS Season 2 launches with a wipe, four new weapons, new vehicles, rain and a broad balance pass.
WARDOGS has launched its Season 2 update on PC, bringing a full wipe, new weapons, vehicles, buildables and a new rain weather preset to the large-scale FPS. The update follows a scheduled maintenance window and is accompanied by a substantial set of balance and progression changes. 12
What Season 2 adds
The update introduces four weapons: the TCX-SPR assault rifle, PP-19 Bizon submachine gun, Evo-3 Ultra light machine gun and M14 marksman rifle. Assault players also get a Molotov incendiary grenade. The official patch notes say the update adds new attachments and changes how several pieces of equipment work, including the infrared range finder and higher-level helmets. 1
Four vehicles join the roster: the Wolf-110 light transport, an armed Wolf-110 variant, the T-72B3 main battle tank and the Flakpanzer Gepard anti-air vehicle. Players can also build an MG Nest, Large Shelter and Wooden Step. The new rain preset affects visibility, sound and vehicle and character surfaces, while thunder can mask footsteps across the battlefield. 12
Season 2 also resets progression through a wipe. That gives everyone a fresh starting point, but it means existing unlocks and accumulated progress do not simply carry forward. The patch notes pair the reset with revised prices, altered experience requirements and other changes intended to reshape the early-season economy rather than merely add more equipment to the existing one. 1
Balance and faction changes
The update reduces the damage of high-calibre ammunition, weakens level 3 and level 4 armour, increases the cost of buildings and cuts the experience needed to reach role level 20. Team switching also receives new restrictions once one side has built a lead, limiting late changes that could decide a match. 1
BULKHEAD is also testing a Season 2-only bonus for Lonestar, the blue team, after it recorded a notably low win rate in Season 1. The bonus provides extra cash and experience, giving players another reason to choose the underperforming faction while the developer watches how the change affects the balance between teams. 12
The update is a fairly broad reset rather than a narrow content drop. New equipment will change what squads can do, but the wipe, price changes and faster role progression should have just as much influence on the way players approach the opening days. The rain system adds another tactical variable, particularly for teams trying to move, spot targets or use sound during a storm.
Our opinion
A wipe is always a risky way to start a season because it asks players to rebuild the progress they have already earned. In WARDOGS, the reset makes more sense if the new prices, unlock pacing and faction bonus genuinely produce a cleaner early game rather than simply extending the grind. The best addition may be the rain: weather that changes sound and visibility can create memorable encounters, especially in a large FPS where movement and information matter as much as aim.
The update is live, but the meta will take time to settle. Players should expect the new weapons, vehicles and economy changes to move the balance around before the community finds a stable set of preferred loadouts. 1
