Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis shows new gameplay trailer
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis shows off Midas, Atlas and new gameplay ahead of its February 2027 release.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis has shown off a new gameplay trailer focused on its ancient ruins, dangerous encounters and a first look at Pierre Dupont in action. The footage was reported on 25 October, with the game still scheduled to launch on 12 February 2027 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.1
What the trailer shows
The presentation moves through locations inspired by Peru, Greece and Egypt, giving the adventure a suitably globe-trotting feel. It also highlights the golden hand of Midas, the Atlas room and a gorilla encounter, alongside the traps and environmental hazards that Lara Croft will face.1
The trailer also gives viewers a first look at Pierre Dupont's in-game model. A motorcycle sequence and battles with mercenaries round out the footage, suggesting that the remake is not relying solely on quiet exploration and puzzle-solving for its sense of spectacle.1
The official Steam listing describes the game as a reimagining of Lara Croft's debut adventure, with exploration, ancient contraptions, predators and mythological creatures all part of the broader campaign. It confirms Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog as developers, with Amazon Game Studios publishing under licence.2
Release details
The game is currently available to pre-purchase on Steam, but it is not out yet. The store listing gives 12 February 2027 as the release date and lists the same PC and console platforms reported alongside the new trailer.2
Our opinion
This is a useful trailer for a game that has to balance recognition with reinvention. The Midas imagery gives the remake a strong visual hook, while the mix of ruins, vehicles, mercenaries and puzzle spaces makes the broader adventure look more substantial than a straightforward visual refresh. The important caveat is that this is still pre-release footage: the trailer can show the intended range of the campaign, but it cannot yet tell us whether the traversal, combat and puzzles work together as convincingly as the setting suggests. For now, the February 2027 date and the new gameplay details make Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis one to watch rather than one to play today.
