Tekkai Jousai no Haika launches on 18 December for ¥1,200
Visual Arts Scripts will launch its ruined-fortress visual novel on PC this December, with a digital edition priced at ¥1,200.
Visual Arts Scripts has announced that Tekkai Jousai no Haika (鉄廻城砦の灰花) will launch on PC on 18 December, with a digital price of ¥1,200. The all-ages visual novel will be available through DLsite and DMM Games, according to the announcement covered by AUTOMATON. 1
The details
The game is set a century after a great disaster, in the 2400s. Its central location is Tekkai Jousai, a maze-like cluster of illegal structures that has since become a ruined fortress. Archaeologist Yuma Kuze takes a recovery job from the Fujinami Chemical Corporation, hoping to earn enough money for residency on the comfortable island of Rakuen. 1
Inside the ruins, Yuma meets Haika, a guarded girl searching for a treasure that will let her die. Their encounter is presented as the starting point for a story about the secrets hidden inside the fortress. The cast also includes Dorman Fujinami, an executive at the corporation. 1
The announcement names Saya Aizawa as Haika's voice actor, alongside Taito Kimura as Yuma and Ryunosuke Watanuki as Dorman. Toolkōji is handling the scenario and directing with Seiyo Nakahara, while chibi is credited with the artwork and Tōya Okuno is producing. 1
The official VISUAL ARTS Scripts page has published the premise and selected CG artwork. The game is the second release from the label, following Sayagatari: Promise of the Cursed Sword, and a physical first-print edition is also planned with a booklet, soundtrack and newly drawn mini shikishi board. 12
Our opinion
Tekkai Jousai no Haika has a more distinctive hook than its modest ¥1,200 digital price might suggest: a mercenary archaeologist, a girl looking for a way to die and a ruined megastructure packed with buried secrets. The premise is still deliberately light on mechanical detail, but the setting and character contrast give this one a clear identity ahead of its 18 December launch.
