Starlight Scouts has launched on Xbox Series X|S, giving players a colourful space-adventure built around exploration rather than the resource wars that shaped its former pilot protagonist. The game is priced at £4.19 on the UK Xbox store and supports local multiplayer for two to four players. 1

From fighter pilot to space scout

Developed by Jobi’s Adventure Development Club and published by JADC Games, Starlight Scouts follows a former fighter pilot who applies to join an interplanetary scouting programme after the major resource conflicts have faded. The official Xbox listing describes a training journey aboard the Starlight Express, where players learn to handle a Type I Rocket under the guidance of Maxstric, a Comet Class Starlight Scout. 1

The game mixes a bright, stylised presentation with the practical business of learning how to fly. Players are asked to master the rocket’s controls while taking on missions across unfamiliar planets, helping communities and proving they belong among the scouts. The Xbox store categorises it as an action-and-adventure platformer with puzzle elements, rather than a conventional combat-focused space shooter. 1

Xbox launch details

The Xbox Series X|S version supports single-player play, local co-op and local multiplayer for two to four people. It is listed with 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, 60fps-plus performance, achievements and cloud saves. The store page gives the release date as 15 October 2026, while the fresh launch coverage confirms that the game is now available to buy in the UK. 12

The result is a small-scale alternative to the usual galaxy-spanning power fantasy: Starlight Scouts is more interested in the feel of getting a fragile rocket under control and earning a place in a new profession. Its low launch price also makes it a relatively inexpensive option for Xbox players looking for a short, local multiplayer-friendly space diversion.

Our opinion

The strongest hook here is the shift from war story to apprenticeship. Starlight Scouts appears to treat spaceflight as something players have to learn, not merely a backdrop for shooting. That makes its Xbox launch worth noting, especially for anyone after a compact co-op game with a gentler science-fiction tone. 12
