Pokemon Unite completes its Eevee evolution line with Flareon and Jolteon

Flareon and Jolteon are now playable in Pokemon Unite, completing the game’s Eevee evolution line with two sharply different combat roles.

Flareon, Jolteon and the Eevee evolutions in Pokemon Unite

Pokemon Unite has completed its Eevee evolution line, with Flareon and Jolteon joining the roster in the October 13 update. The official Pokemon Unite announcement confirms both licences are now part of the game’s playable line-up.1

What is new

Flareon is an All-Rounder built for close-range fighting, while Jolteon is a Speedster focused on fast movement and melee attacks. Both begin matches as Eevee and evolve during play, following the model used by the game’s earlier Eevee additions.2

The update also adds their individual movesets. Flareon uses its Heat Gauge to power attacks including Fire Blast, Fire Blitz and the Garnet Ignition Unite Move. Jolteon’s kit includes Quick Attack, Pin Missile and Volt Switch, with its Quick Feet ability rewarding players for stacking Jolt Counters on opponents.2

Each licence costs 590 Aeos Gems, according to the source report. Pokemon Unite is available on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.2

Why it matters

This is more than another pair of roster additions: it closes the game’s long-running Eevee evolution roll-out. Sylveon was the first to arrive in 2021, followed by Espeon, Glaceon, Umbreon, Leafeon and Vaporeon before Flareon and Jolteon completed the set.2

Our opinion

Pokemon Unite’s Eevee line has become one of its clearest long-term character arcs, and finishing it with two mechanically distinct roles makes sense. Flareon’s heat-based close combat and Jolteon’s speed-and-counter approach give players a reason to learn both rather than treating them as cosmetic variants. The 590-Gem licence price will still be the practical question for players deciding which one to unlock first.

The official update is live now, so players can try both new evolutions rather than merely prepare for a future release.1
