Persona 3 Reload figures lean on your shoulder in 2027

Atlus and Takara Tomy Arts have confirmed a second wave of Katagurumi shoulder figures for Persona 3 Reload, landing in Japanese capsule machines in January.

Atlus has announced a second wave of Katagurumi figures for Persona 3 Reload, made by Takara Tomy Arts and due to appear in capsule toy machines across Japan from January 2027. Each pull costs 500 yen including tax.

Five characters, all asleep on the job

The set is called Katagurumi Fig. Persona 3 Reload vol.2 and covers five characters: Fuuka Yamagishi, Koromaru, Aigis, Ken Amada and Shinjiro Aragaki. Each figure is moulded in PVC at about 50mm tall and posed leaning on a shoulder, which is the gimmick the Katagurumi line is built around. Atlus says the poses and expressions are modelled to match each character.

What a 500 yen pull gets you

Capsules are sold at random, so buying the whole set means repeated pulls rather than picking a character off a shelf, and the set is aimed at the vending machines found outside Japanese game centres, supermarkets and station concourses rather than at specialist figure shops. Takara Tomy Arts publishes stock and line-up details for the gashapon range on its own site, and the Katagurumi format has already been used across other Persona titles, which is why this second Persona 3 Reload wave arrives so soon after the first.

The leaning pose is the whole idea behind the line: the figures are moulded with their heads tipped to one side so they can rest against the edge of a monitor, a shelf or, as the name suggests, a shoulder. Atlus says the expressions and poses were built to match each character individually, and the set covers the team members most likely to be recognised at a glance.

Persona 3 Reload launched on 2 February 2024 across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Steam, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version following on 23 October 2025.

Our opinion

The interesting thing about this announcement is the price point, not the figures. Five hundred yen is roughly the cost of two coffees in Tokyo, and that is the whole pitch: a franchise whose games sell for the price of a console game keeps a presence in players' pockets with merchandise that costs less than a cinema ticket, and the January 2027 window lands deliberately between Persona's larger releases. Vol.2 also tells you vol.1 sold. Atlus has worked out that a 50mm figure leaning on a shoulder is a cheaper way to keep Persona 3 Reload in the conversation than another remaster, and it is hard to argue with a vending machine that does the marketing for you.
