Overwatch gives Hero 55 its clearest look yet
Blizzard’s official 2026 lineup artwork offers a sharper tease of Overwatch’s still-unnamed Hero 55 ahead of the game’s 2027 plans.

Blizzard has shown the clearest look yet at Overwatch’s mysterious Hero 55, placing the still-unnamed Omnic in its official 2026 full-lineup artwork. The character remains a tease rather than a full reveal, but the silhouette is no longer doing all the talking.
The image arrives as part of Blizzard’s BlizzCon 2026 announcements. The company’s official roundup confirms that Hero 55 is the clue pointing towards where Overwatch is heading in 2027, while Doctrine — Hero 54 — takes the spotlight as the vampire-inspired Support hero arriving in Season 5.
What the artwork shows
The supplied lineup image places Hero 55 among the game’s 2026 heroes. The Omnic wears a fedora and long coat, with an umbrella-like prop in hand. Those details have prompted detective comparisons, although Blizzard has not announced a name, abilities or a final role for Hero 55.
That distinction matters: this is an official tease, not a complete character reveal. Blizzard’s own wording points to 2027, so the artwork confirms the character’s place in Overwatch’s future without pretending that a moveset or launch window has been disclosed.
Our opinion
Hero 55 is a wonderfully conspicuous mystery. The fedora-and-umbrella design practically begs players to start connecting clues, but the sensible approach is to enjoy the silhouette and wait for Blizzard to explain what this Omnic actually does. A good tease should leave questions; this one has brought a whole umbrella stand.
Blizzard also confirmed Doctrine, the Watchpoint: Grímsvötn Escort map, Season 5 reworks for Sombra and Roadhog, and a continuation of Overwatch’s story arc in its BlizzCon roundup. Hero 55, for now, is the forward-looking hook.
The official artwork is supplied by Blizzard Entertainment. Game Rant separately reported the visual details, but the hero image used here is the direct Blizzard asset.
