No Man’s Sky gets its biggest space update yet with Cosmos
Hello Games launches the Cosmos update with new space stations, alliances, orbital bases and a 10th-anniversary expedition.

Hello Games has launched Cosmos, version 7.0 of No Man’s Sky, alongside the game’s 10th-anniversary expedition. It is a substantial free update focused on making the galaxy feel more like a place with politics, infrastructure and actual reasons to stop flying past everything.
The official update adds space-station directorship, galactic alliances, orbital base construction and a new star-system map. Players can also establish deep-space outposts, explore colossal derelict hulks and salvage physical materials from them.
Hello Games also lists improved planetary clouds and performance changes across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. The expedition is intended to give returning players a guided route through the new material.
The update does not come with a separately confirmed paid expansion price in the official announcement. Regional pricing and platform-specific download details were not stated.
Why you should care
No Man’s Sky has spent years turning its enormous universe from a lonely technical achievement into something closer to a living space sandbox. Cosmos appears to push that same idea further, giving stations, factions and outposts more structural weight rather than adding another pile of decorative rocks.
Our opinion
Cosmos sounds like the sort of update that gives No Man’s Sky veterans a reason to boot it up again without asking them to buy another expansion. The proof will be in how meaningful the new systems feel after the novelty wears off, but Hello Games is still doing the hard work of making this galaxy worth inhabiting.
