Doctor Doom leads Marvel Cosmic Invasion's Castle Doom DLC
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion's Siege of Castle Doom DLC adds Doctor Doom, Invisible Woman and a new race through Castle Doomstadt on 10 November.
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is sending its heroes into Castle Doomstadt for The Siege of Castle Doom, a new DLC announced for 10 November. The expansion puts Doctor Doom at the centre of a new mode, arriving just weeks before the villain's larger-screen return in Avengers: Doomsday.1
According to the game's official Steam listing, the DLC adds Doctor Doom and Invisible Woman as playable characters. It also introduces new unlockable colour palettes for the full roster and new music by composer Tee Lopes.2
What the Castle Doom DLC adds
The new mode turns Castle Doomstadt into a race against time. Players must fight through the fortress, deal with new challenges and keep the Siege Gauge from filling while Doom works towards activating the Cosmic Inductor, a weapon built to defeat Annihilus. The official description says the device could threaten Earth if Doom's plan succeeds.2
The run also adds a lightweight upgrade system. Players can collect Battery Cells and choose from 12 perks that improve defence, damage, ammunition or healing. That gives each attempt a little more structure than simply clearing another sequence of enemies, while still keeping the beat-'em-up's team-based action at the centre.
Tribute Games and publisher Dotemu previously expanded the roster with Cyclops and The Thing. This DLC adds another Fantastic Four member in Invisible Woman, while Doctor Doom becomes the latest major villain to join the playable cast. The official material also leaves room for a more surprising outcome: players may find a way to turn Doom into an ally against Annihilus rather than simply defeating him.2
The expansion is priced at $7.99 and launches on 10 November, according to the announcement reported by Game Rant.1 The base game launched in 2025 with 15 playable heroes, so the new characters and Castle Doom mode should give existing players a substantial reason to return rather than just another cosmetic drop.
Our opinion
This is a much better fit for MARVEL Cosmic Invasion than a routine character pack. Castle Doomstadt gives the DLC a clear gameplay identity, and the Siege Gauge plus perk choices suggest a mode built around repeat runs rather than a one-and-done story mission. The price will still need to justify itself in the hands-on experience, but a new mode, two playable characters and fresh music make this one of the more substantial additions announced for the game so far.
