Like a Dragon streamer project names its fifth-phase creators
SEGA names three creators for the fifth phase of its Like a Dragon support project, with final results and a potential RGG Studio role due in December.
SEGA has selected three new participants for the fifth phase of its Like a Dragon streamer support project, which backs creators who publish gameplay videos from the series. The company says the project’s final results will be announced on December 18, with a chance of a future RGG Studio appearance for the highest-ranked participants. 12
Three creators join the fifth phase
The selected creators are Kaguya no Omochabako, Chikotamu Games and Metch Channel. Their profiles are now listed on the project’s official website, alongside descriptions of the channels and their enthusiasm for Like a Dragon. The fifth phase follows an application period that closed in September. 1
The project uses three grades: bronze, silver and gold. Participants are assessed during the project and can be promoted or demoted as their activity is reviewed. The goal is to encourage creators to share Like a Dragon gameplay through their own YouTube channels and introduce the series to audiences in their own styles. 12
A future RGG Studio role is the prize
The final results are due on December 18. The top three creators who maintain the gold grade through the end of the project, while also recording the highest number of gold-grade results during the project period, will receive the right to appear in a future RGG Studio title and have their names included in the end credits. SEGA notes that participants cannot choose the game, role or presentation of their appearance. 1
The project also has special ambassadors in kson and Dogma Kazami. Both ambassadors have previously discussed their connection to the series and the route from creator support into official appearances. The campaign’s wider purpose is straightforward: turn creator enthusiasm for Like a Dragon into regular gameplay coverage, while giving successful participants a possible route into the franchise itself. 1
Our opinion
This is a smarter form of creator partnership than a one-off sponsored stream because it gives participants a visible progression system and a reason to keep producing content. The gold-grade reward is deliberately aspirational rather than guaranteed: creators must maintain the grade and finish among the top three, while SEGA retains control over any eventual role. That keeps the announcement newsworthy without turning it into a promise of casting. The fifth phase also broadens the project’s personality, with creators ranging from dedicated series channels to streamers who mix Like a Dragon with other genres. 12
