GTA 5 fans plan one last Los Santos drive before GTA 6

A fan-made TikTok event is asking GTA 5 players to gather for a peaceful final drive through Los Santos before GTA 6 arrives.

Grand Theft Auto 5 fans are being invited to take one final drive through Los Santos before Grand Theft Auto 6 arrives. The event is fan-made rather than an official Rockstar Games promotion, but it gives the long-running open-world game a community send-off as players look towards the next instalment.1

A TikTok video from CraftizyTV calls on players to return to GTA 5 on 18 November, one day before GTA 6 is scheduled to launch. The invitation is open to anyone who made memories in Los Santos, with participants encouraged to choose their own car and outfit for the drive.1

What is the GTA 5 Last Ride?

The proposed event asks players to take part in a ceasefire while they travel through Los Santos. Follow-up posts reportedly ask participants not to start police chases or crash into other players, turning the session into a shared farewell rather than another chaotic GTA Online lobby.

That distinction matters because the event has no official backing from Rockstar. It is a community idea built around the emotional pull of GTA 5, which first launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013 before expanding to other platforms. GTA Online kept the game active for years through multiplayer missions, updates and player-created memories.

GTA Online is not disappearing when GTA 6 launches. Rockstar has said the current game will continue to receive official support, and players still have seasonal activities and challenges to complete. The Last Ride is therefore a symbolic event, not a final opportunity to access Los Santos.

The timing is designed to make the contrast clear. GTA 5's version of Los Santos has been a familiar home for more than a decade, while GTA 6 will move the series to Vice City with a newer generation of hardware and a different cast of characters. A final group drive lets players mark that change on their own terms.

Our opinion

Fan events like this work because they understand that long-running games are more than maps and missions. GTA 5's world became a meeting place for friends, rivals and strangers, so a deliberately peaceful drive is a fitting way to acknowledge what the game meant to its community.

The important caveat is that this remains a TikTok-led idea, not a Rockstar announcement. Players should treat the date and rules as a community invitation that could change, and they should not expect special in-game rewards or official moderation. Even so, if enough players join in, a quiet convoy through Los Santos could be a more memorable farewell than another stunt or shootout.
