Gaelco Sports Collection delayed to January 2027 on Switch
Gaelco Sports Collection will now launch on Nintendo Switch on January 21, 2027, after QUByte Interactive delayed the arcade compilation.
Gaelco Sports Collection has been delayed on Nintendo Switch, with QUByte Interactive now targeting January 21, 2027 rather than the previously announced October 22 date. 1
What changed
Nintendo Everything’s October 14 update says the collection’s Switch release has moved to January 21, 2027. The earlier announcement had set an October 22 launch after QUByte narrowed the game’s release window. 1
The delay affects a digital release bringing five Gaelco arcade games together: World Rally Championship, World Rally 2, Snowboard Championship, Squash and Touch and Go. The package also includes save states, CRT-style display filters, local multiplayer features and a gallery of manuals and promotional material. 12
The arcade collection
The included games lean into immediate, score-chasing arcade play rather than long-form simulation. The World Rally games provide the racing focus, while the other titles cover snowboarding, racket sports and beach volleyball. Steam lists QUByte Interactive as the developer and publisher and confirms that the game is still marked as coming soon. 2
The collection’s new date means Switch players have longer to wait, but it also makes January the launch date to watch rather than the October window mentioned in the original announcement.
Our opinion
A delay is disappointing, but the revised date is useful news because it replaces a launch window that was only days away. The collection’s appeal is clear: five compact arcade games and a handful of modern conveniences could make this a tidy retro package, provided the emulation and multiplayer hold up when it arrives. For now, January 21, 2027 is the firm date attached to the Switch version — not an October launch.
