Forza Horizon 6 is coming to PlayStation 5 on 26 January 2027, Microsoft and the Forza team have confirmed. Pre-orders are now available through the PlayStation Store, with the PS5 version being developed by Panic Button alongside Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios.

Expansion arrives first

The game's first Premium Expansion launches on 21 January across all platforms. It is included with the Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade and Expansions Bundle, and can also be bought separately. Premium buyers get access to the expansion and the game five days before the standard PS5 launch.

The PS5 edition will support cross-platform multiplayer and cross-save with Xbox and Steam. Players will also be able to access community-created EventLab races, garages, liveries and tuning setups, rather than starting with an isolated catalogue.

Editions and timing

The Standard Edition is listed at $69.99, with Deluxe at $99.99 and Premium at $119.99 in the announcement information. Regional pricing and retail availability can vary, so those figures should be treated as the stated US prices rather than a UK price guide.

Forza Horizon 6 is already available on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The PS5 launch brings the Japan-set open-world racer to Sony's console several months after the original platform release, with the expansion acting as the main Premium incentive.

Our opinion

The interesting part of this release is not simply that Forza Horizon 6 is reaching PS5; it is that the version arrives with the ecosystem already moving. Cross-save and EventLab access mean Sony players are joining a living game rather than waiting for a separate community to build momentum, while the five-day Premium head start gives the expansion a clear commercial role. The price ladder is familiar, but $119.99 is a serious ask for a racing game that already has a substantial audience on other platforms. The PS5 version looks most compelling for players who want the full Forza Horizon package without changing console, not for owners expecting a wholly new edition.
