Forza Horizon 6’s PS5 version reportedly slips beyond 2026
Reports claim Microsoft’s open-world racer will still come to PS5, but not within the previously expected 2026 window.
The PlayStation 5 version of Forza Horizon 6 is reportedly unlikely to launch in 2026, according to The Verge’s Tom Warren and sources cited by IGN.
Microsoft has not formally announced a delay, and the game is still expected to reach PS5 eventually.
A rumour during an Xbox reset
The report arrives as Xbox reconsiders how aggressively to release its games on rival platforms. Microsoft has recently reduced the visibility of PS5 and Switch 2 branding in some marketing, while confirming selected titles as permanent Xbox exclusives.
Forza Horizon 6 was previously understood to be one of the announced games that would still reach PlayStation, although Microsoft has not committed to a specific PS5 date.
Why the delay matters
A late PS5 version would allow Microsoft to prioritise the Xbox and PC launch while avoiding a direct clash with other first-party releases. It would also give the company more time to optimise a version built for a different platform ecosystem.

This is precisely the kind of platform uncertainty Microsoft created when it began treating exclusivity as a sliding scale. Players are now left reading logo placement like ancient runes.
A delay is not automatically bad for the game, but Microsoft should simply explain the plan. PS5 owners can tolerate waiting more easily than they can tolerate being told everything is fine while the calendar quietly disappears.
Until Xbox speaks, treat the 2026 PS5 window as doubtful rather than dead.
