Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves heads to Switch 2 with Tokyo Revengers DLC

SNK’s Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is heading to Nintendo Switch 2, giving the fighting game a new home alongside a surprise crossover with Tokyo Revengers. The announcement arrived with new trailers, which is exactly what a brawler needs when its selling point is convincing people that punching digitally rendered strangers will be a good use of their evening.

The Switch 2 version joins the existing release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. SNK has not yet confirmed a separate Switch 2 launch date in the report, so this is an announcement of the port rather than a release-day promise.

A new platform for the South Town fighters

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is the first new mainline Fatal Fury game in more than two decades. It revives the series’ lane-switching combat, flashy specials and familiar South Town cast while introducing newer fighters and a modern training and online package.

That kind of guest content is increasingly standard for fighting games, but it works particularly well here: Fatal Fury already thrives on exaggerated personalities, dramatic poses and people who appear to have solved every personal problem with a roundhouse kick.

A Switch 2 version makes sense for a fighting game that benefits from quick local matches and a portable audience. The Tokyo Revengers DLC is the more curious hook, especially if SNK gives the characters moves that feel distinct rather than simply dressing up existing animations. The verdict is promising, but we need a release date and technical details before this becomes an essential second purchase for existing players.
