Enshrouded is now officially Steam Deck Verified

Valve’s Verified label removes a major compatibility question for Enshrouded players considering Keen Games’ survival RPG on the handheld.

Enshrouded has officially been awarded Valve’s Steam Deck Verified status, confirming that Keen Games’ survival action RPG meets the platform holder’s compatibility requirements for the handheld. 1

The change matters because Steam Deck Verified is intended to give players a quick signal that a game should work properly on the device, including readable interface text, appropriate controller input and a generally reliable experience without requiring desktop-style troubleshooting. It does not turn the game into a native handheld release, but it removes a major question for players considering it on Steam Deck.

Enshrouded launched its 1.0 release on October 15, 2026, after its early-access period. The game sends players into Embervale, where they explore a world threatened by the Shroud, build settlements, develop a character through a skill system and play alone or cooperatively with up to 16 people. 2

The certification arrives alongside Keen Games’ continuing work on the 1.0 version. The announcement carried by the Corpus source says the studio also plans to deploy further fixes and improvements the following week, although it did not detail the contents of that update. Players should therefore treat Verified as a compatibility milestone, not a promise that every future patch will behave identically.

For Steam Deck owners, the practical benefit is straightforward. Enshrouded’s building, exploration and survival systems are a natural fit for shorter handheld sessions, while the Verified label gives new players more confidence before buying or installing it. The game remains a demanding 3D survival RPG rather than a lightweight portable title, so battery life, performance settings and screen readability will still shape the experience on individual hardware.

Our opinion

Steam Deck Verified is a particularly useful update for Enshrouded because the game’s appeal depends on the freedom to explore and build at your own pace. The label does not replace performance testing, and it says nothing about whether the game suits someone who dislikes survival mechanics, but it answers the most basic compatibility question cleanly. For players who have been waiting to move their Embervale settlement away from the desktop, this is the missing green light rather than a new content drop.

Enshrouded is available on Steam, with its Steam Deck Verified status now displayed alongside the game’s store information. 1
