Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition brings the Lands Between to Switch 2

The Switch 2 edition bundles the base game with Shadow of the Erdtree, while new cosmetic and gameplay content is also coming to other platforms.

The Lands Between is going portable. ELDEN RING: Tarnished Edition is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, bundling FromSoftware’s open-world action RPG with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.

Bandai Namco’s official announcement also confirms new content: two starting classes, four armour sets and three Torrent appearance options. That material is available across other platforms through the Tarnished Pack for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.

A complete package, with one pricing wrinkle

The Switch 2 edition is the neatest version for newcomers because it puts the original game and its major expansion in one box. Existing players on other platforms are not being left entirely behind, but the Tarnished Pack is a separate addition rather than a full expansion.

Bandai Namco’s announcement does not state pricing. A Wccftech report lists the Tarnished Pack at €4.99, but that figure still needs checking against each regional storefront before publication. The official announcement confirms the content, not that price.

Our opinion

A portable Elden Ring is an obvious win for anyone who has ever looked at a train journey and thought, “This needs more poisonous swamps.” The Switch 2 bundle sounds like the sensible entry point, while existing players get a modest extra incentive rather than essential new content. Check the local price before buying the Tarnished Pack, but the Lands Between finally fitting in a bag is the headline here.
