Dragon's Dogma 2 Switch 2 update is in development
Capcom says a Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen update for Nintendo Switch 2 is in development, but there is no release date yet.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen players on Nintendo Switch 2 have been waiting for Capcom to address a handful of problems in the new version of the action RPG. That wait is now set to end with a future update, although the company has not announced a release date yet. 1
The Switch 2 update is still being made
Capcom says Title Update 4.1 is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, where it addresses known issues across the game. The company’s note for Nintendo Switch 2 is more cautious: an update for that version is “currently in development” and will arrive at a later date. 1
That means Switch 2 owners should not expect the fixes to arrive alongside the other platforms. It also means Capcom has not yet published a Switch 2-specific feature list or promised a particular launch window. For now, the useful bit of news is simply that the version has not been forgotten and work is continuing.
The existing Title Update 4.1 rollout includes adjustments and bug fixes affecting vocations, enemies, pawns, non-player characters, the user interface and quests on the PlayStation, Xbox and PC versions. Capcom’s official patch notes remain the best place to check the full list, rather than assuming every change will transfer unchanged to Switch 2. 2
What Switch 2 players can expect
Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is the Switch 2 release of Capcom’s fantasy action RPG, built around an open world, party-based combat and the Arisen’s journey. The Dark Arisen expansion adds new adventures to that setting, making performance and bug fixes particularly relevant for players working through both the base game and its additional content. 3
Capcom’s wording does not confirm whether the Switch 2 patch will be a direct equivalent of Title Update 4.1 or a separate package with additional platform-specific fixes. It is therefore too early to promise improvements to a particular quest, vocation or technical issue. The safe takeaway is that a patch is in development, but the details will have to wait for a proper announcement.
Our opinion
The announcement is small, but it is the right kind of reassurance for a newly released platform version. A vague “coming later” update is not as useful as a date and patch list, yet acknowledging the work gives Switch 2 players a reason to hold off before assuming their version has been abandoned. Capcom now needs to follow through with the details: what is changing, when the update will arrive and whether it includes fixes beyond the current 4.1 package.
Until then, treat the update as confirmed development rather than a launch promise. Capcom has said the work is under way; it has not said when Switch 2 players will be able to download it.
