Chucky is leaving Dead by Daylight in November

Behaviour Interactive will remove the Chucky Chapter and related content from sale on November 24, while owners keep access.

Behaviour Interactive is removing the Chucky Chapter from Dead by Daylight stores on November 24, 2026. The change affects new purchases of the Chapter, its Killer and associated cosmetics, but players who already own the content will still be able to use it in the game. 1

The developer announced the change in posts shared across social media, according to the source report. Behaviour said that The Good Guy and the related content would leave in-game and first-party stores on the November date, while bug fixes would continue and existing owners would retain access. A 50% Last Chance sale is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 26 and will run until the removal date. 1

That means the announcement is a delisting rather than a removal from players’ libraries. Anyone who buys the Chucky Chapter before November 24 should still be able to play as the Killer afterwards, but new players will no longer have the same route to purchase him once the store listing disappears. The change also covers outfits and cosmetics associated with the Chapter. 1

Why Chucky matters in *Dead by Daylight*

Chucky joined Dead by Daylight as a particularly unusual licensed Killer. The character’s small size allowed Behaviour to build a different movement and camera model around him, including the ability to vault through windows and move under pallets with Scamper. The official introduction also highlighted a third-person camera, a first for a Killer in the asymmetrical horror game. 2

Behaviour’s original Chucky announcement described the Chapter as a collaboration with the horror franchise and confirmed that Brad Dourif returned to voice the character. Jennifer Tilly also voiced the Good Gal outfit inspired by Tiffany Valentine. The Chapter therefore brought more than a familiar face to the roster: it added a distinct mechanical identity and a bundle of franchise-specific cosmetics. 2

The timing puts Chucky among several licensed Killers to leave the game’s storefronts. IGN notes that Pinhead from Hellraiser was removed in 2025 and that Michael Myers from Halloween left earlier in 2026. Those departures have made licensing changes a recurring concern for Dead by Daylight players, particularly when a character remains playable for existing owners but disappears as an option for newcomers. 1

Behaviour has not publicly stated why the Chucky Chapter is being delisted. Licensing is the obvious explanation, but it remains an inference rather than a confirmed reason. The official announcement confirms the dates and the access rules; it does not identify a dispute, contract expiry or permanent end to the character’s relationship with the game. 1

What players should do

Players who want Chucky should check their platform’s Dead by Daylight store before November 24. The Last Chance sale is expected to reduce the price of the related items, but the exact availability can vary by platform. Existing owners do not need to buy the content again: the announced change is aimed at future purchases, not at removing licences from accounts that already have them.

Our opinion

The practical message is clear even if the business explanation is not: Chucky is entering the same awkward category as other licensed Killers who remain part of the game but stop being sold. That is better than deleting paid content from existing accounts, but it still makes the roster less welcoming to new players and collectors. A visible deadline and a sale give fans a fair chance to act, yet repeated delistings leave Dead by Daylight feeling increasingly dependent on agreements players can neither see nor influence. 1
