007 First Light will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 18, 2027, with pre-orders priced at $69.99 and a free Deluxe Edition upgrade, according to Final Weapon's report on IO Interactive's announcement. 1
The Switch 2 release will be a game-key card title. 007 First Light previously launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 27, 2026. 1
A new Bond origin story
007 First Light is a standalone original story about a young James Bond joining MI6. IO Interactive describes Bond as a 26-year-old Royal Navy air crewman whose combat instincts lead him into the agency's training programme and eventually the 00 section. 1
The third-person action-adventure combines stealth, combat, relationships and gadget-focused missions as Bond travels around the world. Familiar characters including M, Q and Moneypenny appear alongside new characters such as Bond's mentor John Greenway. 1
The Switch 2 release
The game is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The Steam listing identifies the game and its existing PC release. 2
Our opinion
A Switch 2 version gives IO Interactive's Bond origin story a useful second wave of attention, especially for players who skipped the spring launch. The March date is concrete, the pricing is clear and the game-key card detail is worth knowing before anyone assumes the full game is stored on the cartridge. That makes this a practical platform announcement rather than a vague port tease.
