Trash Goblin gets a PowerWash Simulator 2 crossover in its 1.6 update

Spilt Milk Studios has given its cosy shopkeeping game Trash Goblin a fresh lick of paint with the 1.6 “Spick and Span” update — and a crossover with PowerWash Simulator 2. The update adds a new gnome trinket from the cleaning series, while a Steam bundle offers both games together.

The biggest practical addition is the Trinket Finder. It helps players locate lost items or hunt down something specific in a busy shop, including objects tucked behind the Soak Tub or Customer Bell. In other words, fewer minutes spent rummaging around like a goblin who has misplaced the very thing they are meant to be selling.

The update also adds proper ultrawide monitor support and changes how save files are written, with improved messaging for existing corrupted files. Spilt Milk says it has made further tweaks to the mercy timer and sack priorities, while fixing issues involving non-player characters asking for already-sold items or refusing to accept trinkets.

The studio says Trash Goblin has passed 100,000 sales and is planned for iOS and Android, although the announcement does not give a mobile release date. The 1.6 update is available now on PC, with the new crossover sitting neatly at the intersection of two games about making filthy things presentable — a surprisingly coherent bit of brand matchmaking.

Andrew Smith, creative director at Spilt Milk Studios, said the team is continuing to evolve the game in response to community feedback. That sounds like the right approach for a restoration game: keep polishing the rough edges, add tools that remove busywork and leave the actual tinkering intact.
