Street Fighter 6 and Star Detective Precure! team up

The four-part crossover story arrives in Battle Hub on 17 December, with Luke, Jamie and Kimberly questioned over a smashed arcade cabinet.

Capcom has confirmed that Star Detective Precure! is crossing over with Street Fighter 6, and the result is a four-part mystery that plays out inside the game's Battle Hub from 17 December. The announcement came from the Capcom Stage Live Day Two session at Tokyo Game Show 2026, and the publisher's own news page carries the date, the episode count and the cast.

What the crossover actually is

This is not a costume pack with a licence slapped on it. Capcom describes an original story built as an adventure game and delivered in four episodes inside Battle Hub, the social space where players already gather between matches.

Episode one hands the detective work to the Precure cast. An arcade cabinet in Battle Hub has been smashed, and Luke, Jamie and Kimberly were standing near it, so the story opens with the three fighters being questioned as suspects. Capcom says the trio are drawn in the show's own Star Detective Precure! Touch art style, which is either a charming flourish or the most intimidating interrogation the series has ever staged, depending on your tolerance for mascot-styled Jamie.

Avatar items and a paper flyer

The story is not the only content. Capcom says avatar items are being prepared alongside it, with details promised later, which is the usual signal that a collaboration collection will follow the episode run.

There is also a physical piece of the campaign. A flyer illustrated by the Capcom artist Tamio, themed around the investigating members working amiably together, is being given away at Capcom Stores, at the Precure series' own Pretty Store and at various event venues. Cardboard and ink are a strange way to promote a live-service update, and it is the kind of detail that tends to make the crossover collectable outside the game.

Why Capcom is doing this

The Precure series has run since 2004 and is now 23 shows deep, which makes it one of the most durable children's action franchises in Japan. Street Fighter 6 has spent three years building a Battle Hub that behaves more like a social platform than a lobby, and a crossover drops an audience that grew up on transformation sequences straight into it.

Both properties are in-house-adjacent on the rights side: the announcement carries the ABC-A and Toei Animation credits alongside Capcom's own, and the show's official site posted the same news on the same day. Capcom has not put a price on any of it, and the episode run is the only dated element so far.

Our opinion

Street Fighter has spent a decade doing crossover work that mostly amounts to sending characters somewhere else to be photographed, so building an actual four-part investigation inside Battle Hub is a more interesting bet. It also fits the game's odd second life: Battle Hub is where Street Fighter 6 keeps its personality, and a mascot detective squad is a better match for that space than another grim guest fighter would be. The risk is tonal whiplash, because a kid-friendly magical-girl crossover sitting inside a game with Jamie's drinking animations is a combination somebody has to land carefully. The flyer giveaway is the tell that Capcom sees this as a merchandising beachhead rather than a one-off. If the episodes are played straight, the strangeness is the selling point.
