RENNSPORT has added four new endurance prototypes in its Hypercar Expansion Pack, alongside a class-wide physics rework and a patch aimed at making console visuals, multiplayer and wheel support more dependable. The update is available now, with the paid cars joined by a sizeable set of free improvements.1

What the Hypercar pack adds

The paid expansion brings the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH, Lamborghini SC63, Toyota TR010 Hybrid and Genesis GMR-001 to the grid. Each car represents a different approach to modern prototype racing, from the Valkyrie’s naturally aspirated V12 to the Toyota’s hybrid-assisted powertrain. The four cars are designed to sit within a reworked Hypercar class rather than simply being added to the existing balance.1

RENNSPORT says the class has received changes to tyre behaviour, engine power, aerodynamics, car setups and balance. That should matter more than the headline car count: it changes how every Hypercar behaves, including vehicles already owned by players. The official notes frame the work as an attempt to make close endurance racing feel more consistent across a full field.1

A larger multiplayer grid

Patch 1.2.18 also expands Custom Contests from 12 to 24 drivers and doubles the maximum race duration from 30 to 60 minutes. Cross-platform server synchronisation has been hardened as part of that change, which gives league organisers more room to run proper endurance events rather than short private races.1

The update includes further console visual work, including changes intended to reduce shimmering on fences and grass, plus lighting adjustments for night driving. Wheel users receive fixes for Quick Setup calibration on console, while the in-session leaderboard now exposes sector times, best laps, ideal laps and tyre compounds. The patch also adds the Modern Prototypes playlist and three related championships.1

The developer’s full notes list additional fixes for crashes, replay handling, vehicle damage, trackside collision geometry and online server reliability. There is still a known issue involving reflections on the Lamborghini SC63’s windscreen, with camera and driving-line workarounds listed in the official notes.1

Our opinion

This is a more meaningful update than a routine DLC drop because the free changes target the systems that determine whether a racing game feels credible over time. Four new cars are an obvious headline, but the 24-driver grids, longer sessions and Hypercar rework are the pieces that could change how RENNSPORT is actually used by organised communities. The caveat is that the expansion is paid content, while some of the most important infrastructure improvements are shared across the game. Players interested only in the new prototypes will need to weigh that price against the wider patch’s effect on the existing roster.

The update also arrives with a familiar live-service compromise: the notes show active development rather than a finished endpoint. Further headlight and force-feedback work remains in progress, and the SC63 reflection issue is still known. Even so, a four-car expansion paired with a class rebalance and larger multiplayer events gives RENNSPORT a clearer push towards the endurance-racing identity it is aiming for.

RENNSPORT Hypercar Expansion Pack and Patch 1.2.18 are available now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The official patch notes contain the complete technical changelog.1
