Paper Perjury 2 Announced for Switch 2 Alongside Original Port
Paper Cat Games is bringing Paper Perjury to Switch and Switch 2 in 2027, with Paper Perjury 2: Shadow of Justice following on Switch 2 in 2028.
Paper Cat Games has announced Paper Perjury 2: Shadow of Justice for Nintendo Switch 2, alongside a Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch release for the original Paper Perjury. The studio says the original is due in 2027, with the sequel following in 2028. 1
Two detective games, one paper trail
Paper Perjury is a point-and-click detective game starring Justina Smith, a newly hired clerk at the Azure City Police Department. Players investigate five connected cases, collect evidence and question witnesses whose statements do not always survive scrutiny. 2
Shadow of Justice continues Justina’s career as she works with detectives Ernest Hunt and Sophie Swift. Its cases centre on a phantom thief called Silhouette and alleged corruption inside the Azure City Police Department. 1
The sequel will also revisit the original game’s paper-trail investigation, with players examining police reports and deciding whether mistakes were accidental or deliberate. An optional penalty system will let players add a game-over risk for repeated mistakes without changing the canonical story. 1
Our opinion
A Switch release gives Paper Perjury a useful second chance to find an audience beyond PC, while the sequel’s expanded police-corruption angle sounds like a natural next case for Justina. The important detail is the gap between the two launches: the original arrives first in 2027, so Paper Cat Games has room to introduce its detective world before Shadow of Justice follows in 2028.
