No Rest for the Wicked abandons October launch for March 2027

Moon Studios is delaying the version 1.0 launch to March 2027 to improve performance, tighten the class system and polish the game.

No Rest for the Wicked will need a little longer in the workshop. Moon Studios has moved the action RPG’s version 1.0 launch from October 2026 to March 2027, giving the team more time to improve performance, tighten the class system and polish the game.

That is a delay, but not a retreat. The studio says more closed and open beta testing is planned, with an open beta scheduled for December before the full launch arrives next year.

What's actually going on

Moon Studios’ official Steam announcement confirms that version 1.0 is now planned for March 2027. It does not provide an exact day, so March is the full level of certainty currently available.

The developer also says Steam purchasers who bought the game before 1 January 2027 will receive Founder’s Pack rewards. PlayStation pre-orders are planned for January 2027.

The game remains in Early Access on PC through Steam. Earlier launch information listed PlayStation 5 for October, while Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 were listed as to be confirmed. Those older platform dates should not be carried forward as current commitments.

Further closed and open beta tests are planned, with the open beta expected in December. No regional pricing or exact launch-day schedule has been announced.

Why you should care

A version 1.0 launch is supposed to be the moment an Early Access game stops asking players to fill in the gaps. If Moon Studios needs more time to make combat systems, classes and performance work together properly, delaying now is much better than shipping a supposedly finished RPG with unfinished foundations.

The Founder’s Pack deadline also gives early Steam buyers a reason to pay attention, although players should read the final reward terms before treating it as a purchase recommendation. The December beta should offer a better indication of whether the extra months are producing meaningful improvements.

Our opinion

March 2027 is disappointing, but the honest kind of disappointing. No Rest for the Wicked has more to lose by launching half-polished than by taking another few months.

Recommendation: wait for the December open beta if you are undecided, and treat the PlayStation pre-order window as a plan rather than a promise until Moon Studios publishes the full details.
