Critical Role and hololive announce Shattered Legends campaign
Critical Role and hololive production will launch a new Daggerheart actual-play campaign with Matthew Mercer and five performers in November.
Critical Role and hololive production have announced Shattered Legends, a new Daggerheart actual-play campaign that will bring four hololive performers into the world of Exandria. The campaign is due to begin in November 2026, although its exact start date has not been announced.12
A new Daggerheart party
Matthew Mercer will serve as Dungeon Master, with Marisha Ray joining the party alongside Calliope Mori, Gigi Murin, Nerissa Ravencroft and Shiori Novella. The performers will play Kaz Oogod, Giryn, Florence, Siliun “Sil” Faell and Marchen “March” Rosemyne respectively.12
The announcement comes from COVER Corporation and Critical Role. Episodes will be available through Critical Role, hololive English and Nerissa Ravencroft’s YouTube channels, while Beacon will host a Session Zero and post-episode “Cooldowns”. The campaign will be performed in English with Japanese subtitles.2
Watch the teaser
The first teaser features Mercer and Nerissa Ravencroft, offering a brief look at the collaboration without revealing much about the campaign’s story. The official video is published under the hololive production and Critical Role collaboration branding.3
The project is notable because it connects Critical Role’s established Exandria setting with hololive’s VTuber talent. It is also built around Daggerheart, the tabletop role-playing game developed by Darrington Press and Critical Role.12
Our opinion
This is a much more promising crossover than a simple guest appearance. Daggerheart already gives Critical Role a ruleset designed around collaborative storytelling, while hololive brings performers with very different audience expectations and on-camera styles. The challenge will be giving the cast room to feel like a real adventuring party rather than treating the campaign as a long promotional sketch.
The format’s extra Session Zero and “Cooldown” episodes are a sensible choice: they can make the setting easier to follow and let the cast unpack the story between main sessions. With a November start but no fixed date yet, the main thing still missing is a proper release schedule.
